s artists one becomes diverse in their skills and here at the End we have created
along side our printmaking studio, a store and café. It is a wonderful entry into
the creative experience and processes of Bill and Genevieve.
Hill End Press believe that art, craft and design all inform each other and are on equal
footing.
One can have delicious rosemary and ginger brownies and to sit at artist Ian Marr’s
beautifully inscribed slate table with an Albert Camus quote while being surrounded by
the artwork of the artists of Hill End.
We have both had a hand in on designing accessories for our store. Cicada and skull
brooches, opera canes and scarves that have found their way to the Tokyo Art Museum,
we fortunately have kept some for our store!
ACCESSORIES
CICADAS
The cicadas are art deco inspired, of Bill’s own design. They are made from
casting resin and polished meticulously to a high finish. They are labours
of love and are an auspicious sign of rebirth and good fortune.
We supply them mounted on a letterpress card signed by Bill Moseley.
They measure 75mm long.
SKULL BROOCH
Frida Kahlo would have been inspired to paint a self-portrait wearing a skull
brooch for sure, these resin brooches come in red and white and they too are
signed and dated by Bill Moseley. They measure 45mm x 45mm.
OPERA CANE
This elegant opera cane is made of straight grained African ‘Wenge’ timber, it is
super strong. The skull is of a heavy non lead alloy, that is highly polished to a
silver lustre and the ferrule ring is in silver. The cane is 3ft in length and 7/8
inch in diameter and it comes with a rubber tip.
SCARVES
Genevieve’s own label scarves are made with vintage and found fabrics. They are
unique and imaginative in design being a creative residue from her costume
design for the Cell Block Theatre Darlinghurst. Different to printmaking not one
scarf is repeated they are all individual.
