My connection to the Hill End Press began with the mutual
admiration of the Adana 8-5 Letterpress. After much discussion
about the intricacies and beauty of printing, Genevieve and Bill
invited me to develop a number of drawings for an edition printed
on the c1900 Gordon Press. As a response to the production era
of the press, each print in the edition (50) was meticulously
hand-coloured.
This approach of print-making informed my practice in unusual
and exciting ways - setting me on a path of exploring various drawing
techniques to get the best result from the Press. It has also provided
an alternative means to continue the story of Joe & Josephine.
