You will be using our beautiful vintage presses, a proofing press and our hand fed Gordon Platen Press with wooden and metal type. No printmaking experience necessary, just a passion for font. With his full experience of teaching and exhibiting antiquarian photography and printmaking. Bill Moseley will teach you both the traditional ‘in camera’ tintype technique as perfected by Frederick Scott Archer in 1851, as well as learning how to make ‘digitypes’ under the enlarger from inkjet positives. In this workshop, we push the boundaries of this fabulous 19thc. technique to produce unique contemporary pieces, including ‘tiled’ collage. Alternatively, you can produce wet plate collodion glass negatives for enlargement or contact printing.
